A one-line diagram, also known as a single-line diagram (SLD), is a simplified representation of an electrical system that uses symbols and lines to visualize the power distribution system. One-line diagrams provide vital information for planning, troubleshooting, designing, operating, and maintaining complex industrial power systems. They are often developed as part of an engineering study, such as arc flash studies or protective device coordination.
